Practice Area: Implementation Guidance

Implementation guidance picks up where organizational readiness stops. Some health plans implement decision support solutions with only internal resources, however it is not uncommon for a health plan to add additional strength to the effort by including external subject matter experts for guidance and industry insight.

What is this consulting service?

Grow Forward provides subject matter expertise and leadership for successful implementations. We strategically partner with business sponsors, project/program managers, technology architects, business analysts, data analysts and vendors to help deliver the results.

Implementation guidance engagements vary according to the type of support needed. When assistance is needed for specific implementation tasks, engagements are designed to have a beginning and end, rather than provide unstructured consulting at an hourly charge. Where circumstances require a less structured approach, engagements may also be designed around spans of time and rely on a time-and-expenses approach.

What does this provide?

Our engagements work to illuminate the path of implementation, helping to keep the journey on track and helping to keep the target in sight at all times.

Activities to achieve this may include one or more of the following:

  • Assistance with prototyping activities that are designed to validate data, to mitigate risks or to gather detailed business requirements;
  • Assistance in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process with vendors;
  • Assistance guiding the vendor demonstration process and creating apples-to-apples metrics to use when evaluating vendors or demos that vary significantly;
  • Assistance with analyzing RFP and vendor demo results as compared with business needs;
  • Identifying and resolving barriers to success;
  • Providing subject matter expertise on end-user data to help guide decisions related to data mapping or data processing issues;
  • Assisting the deployment planning process, including training and documentation; and
  • Working across the implementation to assure that the outcome of the project meets business expectations.
